Reflections on International Women’s Day: What Have We Really Gained over the Past Century?

This year marked the 100th anniversary of commemorating International Women’s Day. On the first International Women’s Day ( March 19, 1911), more than one million women and men in Denmark, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland attended public rallies to put an end to gender-based discrimination and to campaign for women’s rights to vote, hold public office, and access educational and professional training.
